You can’t get Organized life by just organizing some places (Home, Office, Etc.). Getting hold of your life is equally important; making lists of everything can help you with it.
Getting started is the tricky part, starting with too many lists can be overwhelming, begin with these 10 must-have lists to be in control of your life.
These lists are here to make you less stressed, not to add to it. Making lists at different places or themes being scattered around is least likely to help you. You can make do with a plain notebook or Print some free printables to add to your planner.
Must-have List to get organized
It’s very easy to get distracted, making lists helps you focus your energy on more important things rather than trivial things like what to cook, get done, or get from the store.
I am forgetful & often struggle to remember little things, If you’re slightest like me then you are at the right place. I have shortlisted these to keep it minimum.
- Daily planner
- Weekly Planner
- Monthly Planner
- Year at a Glance Calendar
- Meal Planner
- To-Do List
- Shopping List
- Budget Planner
- List of Goals
- Self-Time List
1. Daily Planner
The daily planner is a must for organized people, Even if you skip on other list this one shouldn’t be ignored. It’s the best way to keep track of your day & to be more productive; it helps you focus on the matter at hand and not leave it for later.
Does “remind me to call my aunt later” or “try not to forget this today” sound familiar? It’s natural to forget little things. So many times day will be over with you filling like you hadn’t accomplished anything.
So before starting the day take some time and plan by setting some goals, be mindful of your time though; We don’t want a tight schedule for us to struggle later. You can limit you daily planner to To-do List or plan it in detail.
Details to Include in Daily Planner:
- Time blocks
- List of task
- Top Three Priorities
- Get in touch with
- Hydration tracker
- Notes
You can include everything from above or anything which you prefer; I like to add checkboxes beside every task, ticking those boxes gives a sense of accomplishment. What better motivation can be than that?
2. Weekly Planner
The weekly planner is self-explanatory, for many people weekly planner works better than a daily planner.
Not all tasks can be completed within a day, It’s hard to plan them with a daily planner. A weekly planner provides you with the much-needed flexibility for time-consuming tasks. Weekly goals can also be included in this list.
There are always some lazy days where nothing comes to mind despite you having so many things to do. You can go refer to your weekly planner while planning your day.
3. Monthly Planner
We all have a varying set of events be it Bill payment days, birthdays, anniversaries, Holidays, Etc. Not to forget important appointments & meetings. What could be more convenient for all this than the monthly planner.
You can have this in your planner, or take print of weekly planner and pin it to Display board. I have designed whole set of FREE PLANNERS for all of you, you are most welcome use them.
4. Year at a Glance Calendar
The “Year at a glance” calendar works the same way, personally, I prefer Google Calendar for Scheduling Events and all.
Don’t work yourself up, you don’t have to make every list here, go through this and work out the system that works best for you.
5. Master To-do List
Master Task List is like your mind on paper, in this list you put anything that comes to your mind which needs to be done.
Work out your upcoming week and in order daily tasks referring to this list. Your mailbox needs decluttering but too busy to accomplish it today or this week. Put it in the Master To-do list so, you won’t forget it & might accomplish it the next week!
You got the idea, right? Piece of advice, use the checkbox.
6. Meal Planner
It may sound silly! Or not but meal planning does save your time & health. Instant food or sneaks will be more appealing than planning & cooking a meal when you are tired & Exhausted (especially dinners). But if you have something planned beforehand then you are most likely to follow through.
It’s not everyone’s cup of coffee to come up with meal ideas in instant. I am one of those who will rather stay away from the kitchen, but you need to eat, right? So, why not make this easier for us.
Meal planning has its own perks like you can shop for groceries in advance. No more bailing out from cooking something just because you’re short on needed ingredients. Meal preparing in advance while you have time is a blessing for rush hours.
You can make a detailed weekly menu plan or just a list of meals that you would like to try during the week.
7. Shopping List
All the lists here are to save your time & be more productive but trust me this one will save you money too. When you have a list in your hand you just go there and grab it, no more impulse shopping or spending too much time figuring out what to pick.
I am sure everyone makes this one in their own way, but the trick is to make a functional one. Making list at multiple places won’t work nor will checking your stock before shopping. Be practical, who has the time to go through so many items?
Get your shopping list a place that is accessible to all family members. Now, whenever you’re short on something or about to run out of stock, add it to the shopping list. Anyone in your family needs something they know where to put it.
I use Google Keep for a shopping list, it’s the best option for synchronizing shopping with my husband. No more double purchases or leaving massages to each other.
8. Budget Planner
Don’t worry I am not a fan of this either, but you can make it a detailed one or limit it to bills & due dates. It relieves your mind of a huge burden.
Whether you like it or not but knowing where your hard-earned money goes? and planning it properly saves you from stress. I am not an expert on these but, I am a firm believer in “Don’t spend more than you earn”.
Life is unpredictable, but little planning goes a long way.
9. List of Goals
We all have some goals; it doesn’t matter how small or big. Penning down them is the first step to achieving them. Please don’t confuse your dreams or desire with goals. You need to set achievable goals.
If you are serious about this then take my advice & include the targeted time in your goal list, it will keep you motivated and working towards it.
10. Self-time List
All the above lists are to make your life easier thus it’s quite important that you not overwork yourself & enjoy some self-time. It makes sense to keep the list rather than fumbling around when you do get time.
You can include anything to your liking or use some of the very common suggestions to include in your list:
- Books to read
- Movie to watch
- Recipe to try
I am sure you’re motivated enough and ready to make some of these Lists. while there are so many option available you can download FREE PLANNER & CHECKLIST which I had designed for my lovely readers. Enjoy!
